This coming weekend a former voice student of mine has the pleasure of performing Cherubino in the Université de Moncton’s production of Mozart’s “Le Nozze de Figaro” and I will have the pleasure of watching her. I am so proud of her. She is a remarkable young lady. This made me sit back and reflect on my past students, all of whom carried with them the love of singing. Students with whom I have worked have gone on to various careers–folk recording artists, country performers, opera singers, teachers, actors, bloggers, and others too numerous to mention. My hope is that no matter what their career choice they have continued to enjoy music as a part of their lives.
I then began thinking about my present students and the light I see in their faces when they sing. How blessed they are to have this as a part of them and how blessed I am to be able to work with such amazing students. Singing makes such a difference in our lives.
Here are a few links to recordings I found by some of my former students. Enjoy.
